Turkey

Recently, affected by inflation, Turkey's currency has been devalued seriously, and people's spending on energy, food and other daily life has increased significantly. Turkish residents say electricity bills have risen three or four times, and their pensions cannot support their daily lives.

Since January 1 this year, the Turkish government has substantially increased the prices of gas, electricity, fuel and other energy sources. Take the electricity price as an example, the civil electricity price of Turkey below 150 kwh per month is 1.37 lira per kWh, about RMB 0.64, up 52% compared with the previous period; For those above 150 kwh, the price per kWh is as high as 2.06 lira, about 0.97 yuan, or 127%. Commercial electricity prices also rose 127%. In addition, since January, Turkish residential and industrial gas prices have also risen from 25% to 50%. In addition to energy costs, Turkish people's other living costs have also increased sharply due to inflation, and families with newborn babies have found that the cost of diapers and milk powder has almost doubled.
Due to the rapid depreciation of the Turkish Lira, Turkey's consumer price index rose by nearly 50% in January, the largest year-on-year increase in nearly 20 years. A few days ago, a spokesman for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the government would take measures to prevent people from being crushed by inflation.

The local textile industry has also been hit hard. Balash is a local textile mill owner in babada Town, Denizli Province, Turkey. He has 17 looms in total. Now these machines are all idle in the workshop. They haven't started for two months. Four workers in the workshop have become unemployed.

Affected by factors such as rising electricity prices, this year, the cost per meter of cloth in Turkey has reached 13 lira, about 6.1 yuan. Fabric buyers can only buy at the price of 10 lira, that is, 4.7 yuan. Textile mill owners can not accept such a price. If they continue to start construction, they can only make more losses and have to shut down.

'I can't make any money now, and I've been losing money and making no profit,' says Mr. barosh, the owner of a Turkish textile mill. I hope the electricity price can be lowered. If not, we may have to sell machines. It's over here. Go live in the city.
Textile industry is the most important industry in babada Town, and there are many textile workshops. According to local media reports, the electricity price rise has caused about 4000 local textile machines to stop running. Outside the textile workshop in baresh, reporters saw several local people sitting idle chatting. Among them, there were workers in the workshop. 23-year-old Mustafa was one of them. He worked here for two years and now he has been unemployed for two months.
Turkish unemployed Mustafa said that all the young people in the village are engaged in textile work, but now everyone is unemployed and no one in the village has a job. We don't have any plans for the future, we just try to live in the present, hoping to find a job with daily salary, so that I can fill my stomach.
