The merchants who buy cloth now lack purchasing power and can only buy it for 10 lira. The local textile machine owners could not accept the price, so they had to shut down the textile machinery.

The textile industry is the most important industry in the region. According to local media reports, about 4000 textile machines in this region have been shut down due to rising electricity prices.
