In 1-4 months of 2008, the consumer price index in Malaysia increased by 2.7% to 107.9, compared with 105.1 in the same period last year.

Compared with April 2007, the consumer price index increased by 3%, from 105 to 108.2.

The consumer price index increased by 0.3% compared with March.

In 2008 and 2007, the consumer price index changed: in addition to clothing and footwear department, all other sectors of the consumer price index has increased, an increase of 2.7%.

The consumer price index of clothing and footwear department has dropped by 0.6%.

Other growth sectors were retail goods and services (+ 3. 3%); entertainment services and culture (+ 2. 6%); Education (+ 2%), furniture (+ 1. 5%).

The monthly change in the consumer price index: compared with March, the consumer price index in April rose 0.3% in 2008; clothing and shoe performance increased by 0.6%; furniture increased by 0.3%; entertainment services and culture increased by 0.2%.

The consumer price index of durable goods has dropped by 0.2%.
