The consumer market has gradually become popular, and the domestic consumer market of outdoor clothing materials has maintained a 40% growth rate.

Functional clothing suitable for outdoor life has become a hot topic for consumers.

Consumers are very concerned about the quality of this kind of products, especially for their alleged functionality. They are also the key points to be considered before buying. However, there is no national standard for outdoor sportswear in China. Many outdoor clothing fabrics refer to the standard of ordinary clothing, and there are still many deficiencies in the professional aspects of consumers.

This article briefly introduces the detection methods of outdoor clothing fabric functionality, and provides reference for the formulation of relevant product standards.


The functional requirements of outdoor sportswear are mainly windbreak, water proofing and moisture exhausting. Others include: sweat absorption, quick drying, antistatic, UV protection, antisepsis, heat insulation and so on.

In view of the trend of multi-functional development of outdoor sportswear fabrics, any single natural or chemical fiber can not meet these requirements at the same time. It can only achieve these functions as far as possible through multiple fiber combinations and chemical ways.

Table 1 summarizes the functional testing items and standards at home and abroad.


Outdoor clothing fabrics with a wide price gap in the market are difficult to distinguish only from appearance. They can only be judged from various functional evaluation indexes specified on labels.

But sometimes the reason for the difference is simply the use of different standards of testing, or the use of different units, not the true reflection of product quality.

Consumers may be misled when judging.

Therefore, in formulating the relevant product standards, we need to unify the testing methods and results of the unit.

The functions of outdoor clothing fabrics are mainly waterproof, moisture permeable, hygroscopic, quick drying, antistatic and anti ultraviolet. Five.


  

Waterproof fabric

The most important function is waterproof. Most traditional fabrics are coated with waterproof or thin film. Later, waterproofing treatment with fluorinated compounds or organosilicon finishing agent has been carried out.

The effect of waterproofing can be expressed by water resistance and surface moisture resistance.

The resistance to water passing through the fabric is indicated by the hydrostatic pressure on the fabric. That is to say, under the standard atmospheric conditions, the surface of the specimen is subjected to a continuous upward pressure until there are three water seepage. Record the pressure at this time. It is indicated by kPa or cmH2O that the greater the value, the better the waterproofing ability.

The rising rate of water pressure and the temperature of experimental water are the two parameters that affect the result. The higher the temperature, the smaller the data; the larger the water pressure rises, the larger the data is, the smaller the rising rate of water pressure, and the result is outside the range.

Coated fabric

The method of determining the water resistance of coated fabrics is applied when static water pressure is applied.

The test instrument is similar to gb/t4744, but it is required to install a metal net that can prevent the specimen from deforming and bursting.

The test method is that under the specified conditions, the side surface of the coated fabric sample will be subjected to continuous upward pressure. When the specified water pressure is reached, it is observed whether there is penetration or continuous pressure until the penetration occurs.

For the test of the specified pressure value, the evaluation result is the test of final hydrostatic pressure value passed or not passed, and the evaluation method is the same as gb/t4744.

A water test method for determining the moisture resistance of fabrics with or without water repellent or water repellent finish.

Place the sample on the clasp and place it at a 45 degree level. The center of the sample is located at the distance specified below the nozzle.

Spray the sample with distilled water or deionized water with specified volume.

The water level of the specimen is determined by comparing the appearance of the specimen with the evaluation standard and the picture.

The water level is divided into 1~5 grade. The 1 level indicates that all the drenched surfaces are wetted. The 5 level indicates that the surface is not wetted and the surface is not stained with small drops.
