Increasing information management in the production process is a new path for Xinjiang Kuqa cotton industry to develop new quality productivity. After the digital cotton construction project is completed and put into operation, cotton farmers can monitor crop growth through mobile phone APP without leaving home, and can also water and fertilize as needed, effectively reducing the cost of cotton water and fertilizer management, and achieving cost reduction and efficiency increase.

On April 22, in the digital cotton construction base in Dunkuotan Town, Kuqa City, the atmospheric plant growth detector, insect pest detector, spore detector and other equipment have been erected near the demonstration field. Experts from China Agricultural University and Hebei Agricultural University, together with staff from relevant water companies in Xinjiang, are busy installing soil moisture detectors. These devices are like "clairvoyance" and "stethoscope" for cotton production management in demonstration fields, which can monitor soil moisture, crop seedling, field pest and climate disasters in real time, and send out early warning prompt in time.

  

Kuqa digital cotton construction project relies on the agricultural intelligent digital application platform of Xinjiang Water Affairs Company. The platform was jointly developed by the company with experts from China Agricultural University and Hebei Agricultural University. Through integrating soil moisture monitoring equipment, meteorological observation equipment, pest monitoring equipment, seedling observation equipment, spore powder monitoring equipment, and matching with intelligent water fertilizer integrated machine and field electric valve, the digital cotton intelligent management system was built. The system deeply integrates modern information technology such as intelligent sensing and automatic control with agricultural production, realizes remote irrigation, fertilization and chemical control operations, and promotes efficient utilization of water, fertilizer and other resources and accurate cotton management. At the same time, the Xinjiang Water Affairs Company cooperated with China Agricultural University to carry out the project of saline alkali land improvement and efficient use of water resources in the digital cotton construction base in Dunkuotan Town, and improve cotton quality and yield through the application of soil amendments and other means.

At present, Kuqa City is fully promoting the construction of intelligent digital application platform with water and fertilizer integration, field automation, agricultural four situation monitoring and aerial remote sensing UAV as the core. Preliminary installation and commissioning of equipment have been completed in some areas, laying a solid foundation for subsequent data acquisition and application.

The Xinjiang Water Company's smart water company said: "The field hardware equipment and aerial remote sensing UAVs have been put into use, the cotton cultivation, management and collection data, as well as the soil, air pressure, climate and other comprehensive data collection work has been started, and the data analysis and sorting are also advancing synchronously. The system needs to be improved The data accumulation of three to five years is currently in the initial stage of data accumulation. Although a complete database has not yet been formed, a data framework has been established. The collected data will continue to be systematically sorted and classified in the future. These data will provide strong support for the construction of a large cotton growth model. "

As an important high-quality cotton producing area in China, Kuqa has a stable cotton planting area of about 1.8 million mu all year round. With the application and promotion of the digital cotton construction project, it will strongly promote the transformation and upgrading of the local cotton industry to high-quality and efficient, effectively improve the income of cotton farmers, and inject strong "smart momentum" into the revitalization of rural areas in cotton regions.
