China: traditional textile, dyeing, weaving and embroidery skills of Li nationality

The women of Li nationality in Hainan Province of China use the traditional textile technology of Li nationality to make textiles from cotton, hemp and other fibers. These technologies include spinning, dyeing, weaving and embroidery. The patterns on the woven products record the history and legends of Li culture, as well as worship, taboos, beliefs, traditions and folk customs. They are an integral part of the cultural heritage of the Li ethnic group and help the ethnic group strengthen their common historical memory and cultural identity.

   China: Qiang Year

The year of Qiang comes on the first day of October in the lunar calendar. This is a traditional festival for Qiang people living in Sichuan Province of China. They express their gratitude and awe for nature, reaffirm their relationship with nature and promote social and family harmony with celebration activities. After the 2008 earthquake, as a platform for dialogue and exchange between the Qiang people and other ethnic groups, the festival played a key role in rebuilding beliefs and communities, while raising people's awareness of food security and environmental protection.

China: Traditional construction techniques of Chinese wooden arch bridges

Wooden arch bridges are distributed in Fujian and Zhejiang provinces along the southeast coast of China. The construction of wooden arch bridges is a source of livelihood for carpenters. Bridges and traditional construction techniques are an indispensable part of the local rural cultural ecosystem. These wooden arch bridges are both traffic arteries and cultural spaces, enhancing community harmony and cultural identity. Local communities and men and women carpenters jointly participate in the construction, maintenance and use of wooden arch bridges, as well as relevant folk customs.
