British retailer marks and Spencer announced on the 18th that it would lay off about 7000 people in the next three months, in preparation for the company to cut costs and change its business model after the outbreak, Sky News reported on its website. M & s said that the majority of the layoffs will be made through voluntary resignation or early retirement, and discussions have begun with employees; the layoffs are mainly for employees in central support centers, regional management departments and UK market stores. This is the second time M & S has announced a large-scale layoff plan. The company announced 950 layoffs last month, mainly for the management.
