Facing consumers directly has become a trend, but it is like this store.

Direct sales are rare.

In New York, a fashion shop called Flying Solo recently opened in the fashion block Nolita.

The main creator of Flying Solo is a jewelry designer Elizabeth Solomeina, who positioned her new store as a DIY fashion collection store.

Although there was only one founder, the shop was co operated by 45 independent and local designers. They shared the 2000 square foot space on the Mulberry Street, including rent and electricity charges.

When Solomeina talked about her way of doing business, she told reporters: "we want to sell things to consumers, but there is no place to do so.

So we simply used this retail concept to cut out middlemen.

Shops are located in prosperous areas, and are not far away from many brands in the flagship store of Soho. Many tourists and fashion lovers will often visit.

In this space, designers can present their entire series of visions. Solomeina believes that this new retail mode allows designers to hear first-hand feedback from customers, and in return, they will improve their products more quickly to adapt to the market.

The idea of Flying Solo's designer home comes from Solomeina's personal experience.

As a jewelry designer, she often feels that it is too difficult to rely on retailers to develop a new brand, and the cost of production and inventory is very high.

"I realized that the industry really collapsed."

Solomeina said.

Before making Flying Solo, Solomeina first trained several guerrilla shops in the upper west side and Soho in February this year.

After that, she found a house that could accommodate more than 33 designers to facilitate long-term operation.

With investors' money coming in, Flying Solo, the first prototype, opened its doors in mid June.

Today, Flying Solo, a designer team, has also attracted many consignment brands.

Now the store sells nearly 50 designers' dresses, accessories and jewelry.

The brands that recently joined the Fly Solo include high-end high-end fashion Chikimiki, luxury bag brand Kalamarie created by two sisters, and jewelry brand S/H Koh, inspired by architecture and sculpture.

Interestingly, designers who sell objects in stores have to work in a shop for a whole day a week. There are four designers in a day.

Of course, if you want to do more work, no one will stop you. Overtime and the application of rest will be applied ahead of schedule.

"We also have a designer who flew to work from Dallas in a few weeks. I was quite surprised."

Solomeina said.

She hopes that sales experience can help designers understand the market better. Independent designers are best equipped for many jobs, such as running websites or social accounts.

The store also provides teaching in the fashion industry. It welcomes fashion lovers and students to communicate. It also works with charitable organizations, net red and other parties, as well as accepting space reservations for birthday parties, aiming at improving brand recognition.
