"Under the new normal background, the textile industry's economic research should be integrated with the industry and follow up. What's more, we should combine the needs of the development of the textile industry and the outstanding problems to carry out targeted research, especially in the aspects of brand, market, domestic market, and innovation system."

At the Eighth China Textile Economic Forum held by Tianjin University of Technology, Wang Tiankai, President of the China Federation of textile industry, put forward new requirements for the forum and the research on the industrial economy of universities.

At the meeting, Wang Tiankai stressed that the economic research of the textile industry should not be confined to the room. It is necessary to further open up the train of thought and study and analyze the characteristics of the industry and the current China's economic situation.

At the same time, the results of the textile economic research project should make full use of the relevant platforms, widely publicize and promote both inside and outside the industry, and promote the pformation and upgrading of the textile industry.

Development status and trends, he pointed out that the textile industry is currently facing a grim situation. First, the textile raw materials market is complicated. Domestic cotton prices are still higher than the international cotton price per ton by about 3000 yuan. At the same time, the problem of structural overcapacity exists in chemical fiber production capacity, and the textile market situation is not very optimistic.

Two is the industry energy saving and environmental protection situation is grim, enterprises are facing enormous pressure.

At the same time, the speed of textile industry pfer is slowing down. In this regard, the industry should speed up the elimination of backward production capacity in the new normal.

Enhance the level of development of the industry, while strengthening technological innovation.

At the forum, 60 economic research achievements were awarded the "2014 China Textile Industry Federation economic research achievement award".

7 research achievements, such as textile economics research (2006~2010), won the first prize, and the 11 achievements of "Xinjiang machine picked cotton development strategy" and so on were awarded two prizes. 13 achievements of "intellectual property rights protection and infringement case analysis" were awarded three prizes, and 29 achievements based on the new urbanization strategy of textile industry development were awarded the excellent prizes.

Among the award-winning papers, the first prize winner, Professor Hu Xinghui of Wuhan Textile University, Shao Jingfeng, associate professor of Xi'an Polytechnic University, and Lu An, associate professor Lu An of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, respectively exchanged the three award-winning papers on "collaborative development of new urbanization and textile industry pformation", "modeling and extraction of innovation driven development path of textile industry based on coevolution", and "clothing life cycle carbon footprint".

Two Yin Yanbing, an associate professor of Tianjin University of Technology, shared the award-winning works of textile heritage protection and the dialectical thinking of regional economic development.
