Hu Guangmin, chairman of the Shandong Huaxing Hai CI New Material Co., Ltd., who invented the "crab shell underwear", told reporters that this is related to a chitin contained in the crab shell.

Chitin, also known as chitosan, is widely distributed in cell walls of crabs, spiders and fungi. It is a natural biomass polymer.

After being dissolved, defoaming, filtering, spinning, refining, drying and finishing, the crab shell becomes biomass fiber and becomes the raw material for making clothes.

"This kind of biomass fiber has been studied abroad for many years, but has not yet achieved industrialization. At present, China is the only country in the world to realize the industrialization of biomass fiber.

And we are the first domestic R & D and production of "crab shell underwear" business, products have applied for national invention patents.

Hu Guangmin said that the water absorption of crab shell fiber is nearly twice that of cotton, reaching 18%, so the "crab shell underwear" has the feeling of cashmere.

Moreover, chitin has more than 90% inhibitory activity on Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and so on. It is the only basic biomass fiber on earth.

When acidic human sweat contacts basic crab shell fibers, they neutralize and dissolve.

Therefore, the "crab shell underwear" with a blending ratio of 10% also has the bactericidal effect.

It can also be widely used in medical field, used as hemostatic material, wound material and surgical suture.

Hu Guangmin told reporters that the dressing made of crab shell fiber can be placed in the incision of the femoral artery, and it can stop bleeding in 30 minutes. The surgical suture will be decomposed and absorbed in the organism, and no biological rejection will be produced.

"As far as current technology is concerned, both Yangcheng Lake, Taihu hairy crabs and marine crabs can be made into biomass fibers.

But Alaska snow crab has a large head and a full output, and its spinning performance is good and its silk production rate is high, so it has become the first choice for crab shell underwear.

Hu Guangmin said that an average of 7 tons of snow crab shell can extract 1 tons of fiber, and the price of crab shell fiber per ton is currently around 600 thousand yuan.
